Platform Engineer

The Role
The company is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join its fully remote, US-based team. This person will work closely with engineering, product, and operations to design and maintain the infrastructure and backend systems powering the company's core services.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain APIs, databases, and backend infrastructure.
Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles to ensure scalable, reproducible environments.Enhance system reliability, observability, and incident management protocols.Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver robust, efficient features.Drive CI/CD automation and deployment pipelines.Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.Contribute to long-term platform scalability and technical roadmap planning.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Python and frameworks like Django or FastAPI (or similar).
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.).
- Solid understanding of concurrent programming.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
- Experience implementing IaaS using Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Prior startup or early-stage experience, comfortable building from scratch.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and automated testing practices.
- Passionate about building enabling platforms that empower engineering teams.
Bonus Points
- Experience working with large language models (LLMs), streaming, or function calling.
- Deep knowledge of background processing (Celery or similar).
- Familiarity with WebSockets and streaming APIs.
- Exposure to React or React Native environments and API best practices.
